TOEFL iBT

What is the TOEFL®  test?

The TOEFL test is the most widely accepted English language test in the world, a certification demanded by more than 6000 licensing agencies, universities and colleges in more than 100 countries. It is a reliable and accurate measure of a student’s academic English language skills. It is now an internet-based test and incorporates an integrated-skills approach to simulate real-life academic environments.

What is the format of the TOEFL test?

  • The TOEFL® iBT (Internet-Based Testing) measures four skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing
  • It uses integrated tasks that are more reflective of how English is used in the real world, and results in a better measure of ability to participate successfully in an academic environment
  • The score report shows students’ scores in the 4 skills areas (graded from 0 to 30 per section), and the total score. Skills scores provide institutions with more flexibility than before to customise their score requirements, as well as their language training programmes

Why the TOEFL test?
