ETS Global celebrated the scoring of the 1 millionth TOEIC test in France on the 2nd of December at the Maison des Ingénieurs des Arts et Métiers (MIAM). The programme included a prize ceremony to honour the millionth TOEIC candidate, as well as chosen clients and partners for the role they play in making the TOEIC test a success in France; an interactive treasure hunt at the Musée du Quai Branly, and cocktail and dinner. Participants included clients and partners, ETS Global employees, and of course, the lucky winner himself.
The ‘millionth’ ceremony was hosted by Alain Daumas (Country Manager, France) and Dana Allen (Director, Marketing and Communications). The theme for the event was ‘English as a link between world cultures’. As Dana noted, “Speaking English has now become a question of ability to compete in the international environment. The stakes are high, and it is only fitting that a historic milestone for ETS Global, involving a high-stakes assessment, should be celebrated.” The scoring of the 1 millionth TOEIC test in France shows the gaining importance of the test here and is indicative of the fact that France wants to participate in the big league in economics, research and international business.
The trophy for the millionth test scored was awarded to Thierry Calando, a project manager from PSA (Peugot Citroën). He was also awarded a coupon worth 1000 euros for a journey for two to London.
